Canada’s IRCC has expanded the approved English language proficiency tests for Student Direct Stream (SDS) applications. Effective from 10 August 2023, four new tests have been added, which includes CAEL, CELPIP, PTE, and TOEFL iBT.
In-Person Examination Requirements
It is to be noted that Applicants must fulfil these language examinations in-person, as online or home-based examinations are not acknowledged now.
Flexible Scoring Guidelines
You’re in luck, as IRCC is presently letting SDS study visa applicants to make an application with an overall score of 6 bands, with 5.5 in 1-2 modules.
Canada’s Commitment to Education
This modification reflects Canada’s assurance of easing international education and making sure that language proficiency obligations align with the requirements of its diverse student population. Furthermore, the addition of these new tests provides more choices for potential students and abridges the application process for study visas.
