The latest news confirms that IRCC has introduced an updated policy concerning the collection of biometrics for Canada PR applicants.
Applicants going for permanent residence (PR) are now required to submit biometrics since 14 June, even if they have provided them before while applying for a temporary residence permit.
Updating the published policy shows that IRCC is again adopting pre-pandemic procedures for permanent resident applications. IRCC was enacting a policy in the Global Case Management System (GCMS) during the COVID-19 pandemic. The policy didn’t ask Canada PR applicants to provide biometrics again if they had already submitted them at the time of applying for a temporary resident permit in the last 10 years.
