Australia Looks To Scrap Covid Visa
The Australian government plans to scrap the Covid work visa. As a result, Indian students and temporary workers holding Covid visas in Australia are allowed to remain in the country till 31 December 2023. However, this cap is not applicable to overseas students employed in the elderly care sector until 31 December 2023.
Australia Breaks All Records Of Inviting Overseas Immigrants In FY 2022-2023
That’s right; Australia’s net overseas migration touched 400,000, which is way more than the estimations included in the immigration plan for FY 2022-23. The country is likely to invite additional candidates to fill nearly 800,000 job vacancies.
Australia Announced A Direct Citizenship Pathway
Citizens of New Zealand living in Australia for four years will be able to apply for Australian citizenship from 1 July 2023. Now they don’t have to first apply for an Australia PR visa to obtain citizenship.
Changes In Australia’s Immigration Policy
Clare O’Neil, Australian Home Affairs Minister, released the review concerning different immigration policies. A lot of changes will be introduced, such as raising the salary threshold for immigrants, granting permission to all skilled temporary workers to go for Australia PR, and launching immediate graduate visas for overseas students.
