First Express Entry Draw of 2023
Canada conducted the first Express Entry draw today since 23 November. Let’s not forget that this is also the first all-program round of invitations this year.
5500 candidates having a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System or CRS score of 507 were given invitations by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada, also known as the IRCC. Eligible candidates belonging to different programs that fall under the Express Entry system, such as the Federal Skilled Worker Program or FSWP, Canadian Experience Class or CEC, and Federal Skilled Trades Program also called FSTP, were invited.
There was a noticeable increase in the number of ITAs issued in this draw. Plus, it was the biggest all-program Express Entry draw since last July when restarted this system. If you compare this draw to the one that took place on 23 November and invited a total of 4750 candidates, there were 750 more invitations this time. Moreover, the CRS score was also much higher this time compared to the draw conducted on 28 September.
Everything You Need to Know About All-Program Express Entry Draws of 2022
In 2022, a total of 23 Express Entry draws were conducted, issuing 46538 invitations to different candidates, including candidates in Provincial and Nominee Programs or PNPs for whom exclusive draws took place between January and July. It should be noted that all-program Express Entry draws were halted in December 2020 for more than 18 months to deal with the application backlogs resulting from the travel restrictions imposed during the spread of COVID-19. Only candidates belonging to CEC or PNP got invitations to apply when Express Entry draws were put on hold. But in September 2021, draws for the CEC were also stopped by the IRCC.
All-program Express Entry draws resumed in July 2022 and continued for the rest of the year, boosting the total number of ITAs issued to 35750.
The Comprehensive Ranking System or CRS score in the last Express Entry draw of the year was 491, which was the lowest minimum CRS score for the year.
