It seems that hundreds of students who entered Scotland as migrants will be qualified for free education in the future.
The Scottish government has claimed to be planning to expand the eligibility criteria after a landmark legal ruling.
That’s right; Students in Scotland who have been in the UK for three years while being issued a leave to remain will be eligible for free education support for the academic year 2023-34.
In addition to this, the children of asylum seekers, as well as other unaccompanied kids who sought refuge, will also be allowed to go for free tuition.
First Minister Humza Yousaf was reported as stating that he was fully dedicated to offering free university tuition for all Scottish students.
Don’t forget principal and vice-chancellor of the University of Edinburgh, Sir Peter Mathieson believes that considering to allow elite families to pay was worthwhile.
He further added that this decision may stop a brain drain from Scotland.
The First Minister also applauded SNP’s opposition to tuition fees.
