US Department of State Announces Visa Fee Hike
The Department of State (DOS) recently brought its fee increase for border crossing card applications and non immigration visas (NIV) into effect. These changes were first announced by DOS on 25 May 2023 and were set to become effective on 27 May 2023. Unfortunately, its implementation got delayed until 17 June 2023. However, the increments have now become effective, so the applicants are required to pay the updated fees.
Let’s take a look at the fee changes;
– Fee for non-petition-based non immigration visas (NIVs) (B, C, D, F, I, J, M, TN/TD, S, T, U) saw a change from $160 to $185.
– Charges for H, L, O, P, Q, and R category NIVs were raised from $190 to $205.
– E-category NIVs are now available for $315 instead of $205.
– The fee for border crossing cards for Mexicans aged 15 and above is now $185, not $160.
