UK Plans To Announce 3 Years Work Permit
In today’s blog, we will talk about UK Government’s plan to ease immigration rules especially for Indians in exchange for trade access.
According to the latest reports, visa easing options under consideration comprises a scheme similar to one settled with Australian Government which would permit young Indians the right to live and work in the UK for up to three years.
It was also reported that, UK Ministers are also keen to simplify immigration limitations in a bid to make it stress-free for thousands of Indian nationals to live and work in the UK as part of the approaching trade talks.
The impending offer will be under talks when Anne-Marie Trevelyan, the International Trade Secretary, travels to Delhi this month.
Trevelyan is said to have the support of the foreign secretary, Liz Truss, who is very interested to control China’s growing influence in the territory. On the other hand, they are likely to meet strong resistance from Priti Patel, who opposes the offer.
Another would be to reduce visa fees for students and permit them to live in Britain for a period of time after they graduate.
Please keep in mind that UK Visa fees for work and tourism, which can cost up to 1,400 pounds, could also be lessened as a sweetener.
The UK Ministers are said to be in an arrangement that a “generous” offer on visas could be the price for such a deal.
A UK government spokesperson stated that, “The tech and digital space in India is still immensely isolationist and if we could open up even a glide of access it would put us ahead of the game.”
