The Wait is Over! Victoria’s Skilled Migration Program Is Finally Here

Recently, Victoria has opened pathways for 491 and 190 Visa routes. So, if you are an applicant, watch this video till the end to know the requirements and understand the process.

Eligibility Criteria for Onshore Applicants

Residency:

The applicant must be living in Victoria. You will be ineligible if you are living interstate.

Expression of Interest (EOI):

It has become mandatory that you submit an EOI.

Age:

Applicants that are under 45 years would be considered only.

Proficiency In English:

To be accepted, it is important that your English is on a competent level. Although, it will be preferred if your English is proficient.

Skills Assessment:

There is no specific occupation list that Victoria follows. However, for 190 Visa, they do follow the Department of Home Affairs’ list. It is crucial that you have a valid skills assessment in the eligible occupation.




Selection Process

Age:

If your age is between 25 to 32, then you have good news! This will grab you some more points.

Language Proficiency Level:

Your application will be favoured if you have a superior command of the English language.

Education & Occupation:

Your application would be prioritised if you are on skill level one along with a Bachelor’s degree in any of the professional occupations.

Partner Skills:

Your Partner skill can be considered if it is applicable.

Salary:

If your occupation is on the priority list and the pay is high, then your application will be prioritised. For instance, if you are a software engineer with a salary of around $100,000, then you are more likely to be invited fast.




Priority Occupations:

The most prioritised occupations from top sectors are:

  • Health
  • Social Service
  • ICT
  • Early Childhood And Secondary Education Teachers
  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Infrastructure
  • Renewable Energy Professionals

It is important that your claims made in EOI and registration of interest are accurate. Any error can end up with rejection. To meet the eligibility criteria, it is also important that you always stay up to date.
