Australian PR for International Students in Australia Australia Genuine Student Test Update 2023

New Shift In Australian PR For International Students

Australia is all ready to welcome some reforms that will let international students express their intent for immigration when they complete the visa application. This step was taken by the Albanese government so they could promote the students’ permanent migration to the country instead of temporary. Today, in this blog, we will be talking about the shift in policy and the new Genuine Student Test.

Australia’s Shift in Policy

In the past, all international students had to follow the guidelines of Genuine Temporary Entrants. These guidelines were used to limit students’ stay till their tertiary education was completed. The student also had to submit a 300-word statement which expressed their reasoning for studying abroad. This statement didn’t include any intention to acquire residency with the studied program.

The New Genuine Student Test

Now, there have been some changes, and a new Genuine Student Test has been introduced, which will replace the Genuine Temporary Entrant condition. If you are a highly skilled applicant, then this test will give you a chance to stay in the country after completion of your studies and contribute to Australia’s workforce.

What’s The Potential of International Students?

Through this shift, Australia is promoting permanent migration and has potential growth in their workforce. According to reports, encouraging the potential of international students is important and also suggests that the visa program must become a prime source of skilled migrants.
