According to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the agreement to promote the migration of students and businesses to Australia would contribute to the development of the country’s living bridge. The two countries would also be collaborating on green hydrogen.
The latest reports confirm that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese have entered a new agreement on migration.
Don’t forget Albanese went to India two months ago, and Modi is visiting Australia for the first time since 2014.
The recently signed migration deal is expected to provide a pathway to Australia for Indian students and businesses.
The agreement promotes the two-way mobility of graduates, businesses, students, and academic researchers.
During an interview, Albanese was reported as saying that hundreds of thousands of Indian students have pursued an education in Australia, which proved highly beneficial for the country’s economy.
Quad Group
It should be noted that India and Australia are among the Quad group of nations, along with the United States and Japan.
Unfortunately, a Quad meeting in Sydney had to be cancelled when US President Joe Biden got caught up with debt ceiling negotiations back home, cutting his planned tour in the region short. Interestingly, Modi is the single Quad leader who visited Australia as planned.
According to Albanese, Quad leaders are united to develop a stable, prosperous, and secure Indo-Pacific region in which all countries reap the benefits of a regional balance promoting peace.
