Dreams of Working Holiday Makers in Australia Come True
The Department temporarily lifted the 6-month work restriction for Working Holiday Makers in Australia on 19 January 2022.
Now, the first extension granted to Working Holiday Makers was till 31 December 2022, but that date was recently pushed forward to 30 June 2023 by the Department.
So what does this extension mean for Working Holiday Makers in Australia? For starters, it means they can start working for any employer without asking permission for as long as their visa remains active. Moreover, whatever job they choose to do before 1 July 2023 will not be regarded as part of the 6-month work restriction period.
What’s even more interesting to note here is that this extension allows Working Holiday Makers to work for any employer or for the same one for 6 more months after 1 July 2023.
This is for all Working Holiday visa holders in Australia, including those holding a bridging visa imposed with condition 8547.
