Australian Government Discloses New Info About The TSMIT Increase

The Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) is planned to be increased in July, and the Australian government has provided new updates about it.

The TSMIT will be increased to AU$ 70,000 from AU$ 53,900 on 1 July. As a result, nomination applications submitted after 30 June must fulfill the new TSMIT of AU$ 70,000 or the annual market salary rate.

This change doesn’t apply to existing visa holders and individuals who submitted their applications before 1 July 2023.  More information regarding the TSMIT increase is expected to be disclosed soon.

The TSMIT sees which jobs are qualified for sponsorship in Australia. Employers are required to prove to immigration authorities that the market salary for the proposed role is more than the income threshold to become eligible for nomination.
