Home Affairs recently provided more information to clarify its announcement of introducing new pathways for TSS subclass 482 visa holders.
The Department confirmed that it would be taking steps to alter the Temporary Residence (TRT) stream of the Employment Nominated subclass 186 by the end of this year. Ultimately, all TSS subclass 482 visa holders will be able to apply for go permanent residency through the Employer Nominated Scheme (ENS) visa subclass 186 in the TRT stream.
Here’s what the information provided by the Department states.
For starters, applicants nominated for TSS visas will have to keep working in their occupations.
Secondly, sponsored visa holders can go for ENS TRT after holding a sponsorship on a TSS by their employer for 2 years instead of 3.
Most importantly, applicants will be required to fulfill other nomination and visa requirements for the TRT stream of the ENS visa, like the age criteria.
Plus, the restriction on the short-term stream TSS visa applications that can be submitted while living in Australia has also been lifted so that applicants and existing visa holders can freely complete two years of employment with their employer without being forced to exit the country.
