Key Highlights of Processing Times
Permanent Residency and Citizenship
The processing times are calculated based on the data from the last 6 months. For instance, here are a few accurate estimates. Citizenship grants could take 15 months to process, while new PR card processing would take 16 days.
Family Sponsorship
According to the IRCC, Quebec and the other Canadian regions have disparities in application processing times for family sponsorships. Processing times would differ depending on your intention to live in Quebec or not. For example:
● Application outside of Canada for Spouse or Common law partner (intention to live outside Quebec) – 12 months
● Application outside of Canada for Spouse or Common law partner (intention to live in Quebec) – 39 months

● Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) – 6 months
● Quebec Business Class program – 61 months

● Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) – 6 months
● Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) via Express Entry – 8 months
● PNP via Non-Express Entry – 14months

The processing times for Visitor Visas applied outside of Canada vary by country. Here are a few:
● India – 32 days
● United States – 30 days
● Nigeria – 121 days
● Pakistan – 65 days
● Phillipines – 16 days
