Today, in this blog, we will bring you some major changes in the immigration rules in Australia.
Major Changes In Migration Laws
There are quite details emerging about the upcoming migration review, which will have a major impact on Australian immigration. A streamlined temporary visa for high-income earners is being introduced, which is a notable revelation.
Fast-Tracking Skilled Worker Visas
According to reports, for skilled workers, there will be an upcoming overhaul of migration rules. This will be to fast-track the visa process so businesses can swiftly recruit overseas skilled workers.
Through these changes, professionals will be able to secure visas with salaries as low as $120,000. Also, the approval process will be cut down from months to a few weeks.
This strategy is to address the issues of the ability to attract skilled workers in to the country. Australia has been losing talent to other countries like Canada which has an efficient visa approval process.
High-Income Stream Within The 482 Visa
These recent changes may introduce a “high-income stream” within the existing 482 Visa subclass. Businesses will still have to secure themselves a sponsor approval to be able to sponsor these professionals as well as for specific position nominations.
The addition of a new stream to an existing subclass is not a new method. It’s been previously implemented on visas like Graduate 485 Visa.
Protection For Visa Holders With Complaints
Another great update is creating a temporary visa for those who lodged complaints with Fair Work Australia against their former employers. This will allow them to stay in Australia while waiting for a resolution.
