What is The EB – 3 Sponsorship Process?
In today’s blog, we will discuss the five-step process to acquire an EB-3 Visa.
To get the EB – 3 Visa, you must follow the standard guidelines of a job-based green card. So let’s take a look at the steps.
1- Find An Employer
Like any other employment-based visa route, you need to find an employer ready to sponsor your application to obtain an EB – 3 visa.
2- Get PERM Labor Certification
On your behalf, the employer will acquire a PERM Labor Certification. This requires the employer to ensure that no US citizen is willing and eligible to apply for your position.
3- Get A Visa Number
After the PERM certification, the third step is for your employer to file an I-140 Immigration Petition for Alien Workers to prove that you are qualified to fill the job position.
Once the I-140 petition is processed, you must wait for your current priority date. On a current priority, you will be given a visa number.
4- Change Your Status
The visa number enables you to change your status by filling in the I-485 adjustment of status form. You can then complete the online application form DS-260 Online Immigrant Visa Application for foreigners residing outside of the US and prepare for the Consular interview.
5- Approval By USCIS
The consular interview will be conducted at a USCIS office or US embassy depending if you are inside or outside the US.
