Top Five Easiest Ways to Immigrate to Canada
Canada is one of the best places in the world for immigration. Today we are going to discuss the top five easiest ways to immigrate to Canada.
Whether you are immigrating with family, going individually as a student, or getting a job, these five ways will help you to easily immigrate to Canada.
1. Through Express Entry
The easiest and fastest way to immigrate to Canada is through express entry. Through Express Entry, PR applications can be managed for three economic class immigration programs. They are the following:
Eligibility for Express Entry
To be eligible for Express Entry, candidates need to get a score above or equal to the cut-off. The scores are given through a Comprehensive Rating System (CRS). The rating system is based on points for education, language, age, job offer, work experience, and adaptability.
Candidates who score above or equal to the cut-off are given the invitation to apply (ITA). Although a job offer is not mandatory, it adds points.
2. Through the Provincial Nominee Program
The provincial nominee program is for those applicants who want to stay in a particular territory or province of Canada. The applicants must contribute to the economy of the particular province through their education, skills, and work experience.
Provinces have their own immigration programs to target particular groups also called “streams”. For instance, a certain province may target business people, workers, and students.
The Application Process
You can apply for the provincial nominee program online through Express Entry or through a hard copy of the application.
Through the paper-based application, you have to apply for the provincial nomination under a non-Express Entry stream.
After the nomination, you need to submit a hard copy of your application for permanent residence to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Which Provinces have their own draws for immigration?
- Newfoundland and Labrador
- Prince Edward Island
- Manitoba
- Saskatchewan
- Alberta
- Northwest Territories
- Yukon
- Ontario
- British Columbia
- New Brunswick
- Nova Scotia
Note that Quebec has its own rules for choosing immigrants. It doesn’t have a provincial nominee program.
3. Family Sponsorship
Through family sponsorship, an individual can sponsor his/her family if they are at least 18 years old and Canadian permanent residents or citizens.
- Family members eligible for family sponsorship are:
- Parents and grandparents
- Spouse, partner, or dependent children
- Adopted children
- Relatives (With certain conditions)
4. Through Startup Visa Program
Those immigrants who want to start a business in Canada can apply through the startup visa program. Through a startup visa, you can come to Canada on a work permit and apply for a PR visa afterward. However, the work permit needs to be supported by investors based in Canada.
Eligibility for Startup Visa Program
- Enough funds to settle in Canada.
- Letter of Support and Commitment Certificate from a designated organization verifying that the business has support.
- A qualifying business
- Proficiency in Language (English or French)
5. Through a Study Permit
Those who want to study in Canada can apply for a study permit. Since a study permit is not a visa, you need an electronic travel authorization (eTA) or a visitor visa. The study permit is valid for the duration of the study program and additional 90 days.
You can apply via Student Direct Stream and quickly get a study permit if you’re from India, China, Pakistan, Senegal, Vietnam, the Philippines, or Morocco. Student Direct Stream (SDS) applications are usually processed within 20 days.
