Home Office Announces Passport Fees Set To Rise From April

The Home Office has declared a 7% hike in the passport fees next month. According to the proposals, the cost of submitting online applications within the UK will jump from £82.50 to £88.50 for people aged 16 and above. Furthermore, the cost of passports for children under 16 will rise from £53.50 to £57.50.

Similarly, the fees for postal and overseas applications will also be increased. Subject to parliamentary approval, these changes will become effective on April 11.

Passport Fees Rose By Around 9% in February 2023

The Home Office stated that the increased income from these applications will cover the cost of passport delivery and associated operations while lowering the dependency on general taxation funds.
