Documents required for an Indefinite Leave to Remain application

Getting an Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in the UK is a momentous milestone for migrants looking for long-term residency. On the other hand, going through the ILR application process can be difficult and intimidating. To help rationalize your ILR journey, we have summarized the important documents you will be required to include in your ILR application.

Current Passport:

Please make sure that your current passport is valid and contains your current visa. You will be required to submit a clear photocopy of all the relevant pages, including the bio-data page and any UK entry stamps.

Proof of Continuous Residence:

You will be required to prove that you have been constantly living in the UK throughout your visa period by submitting documents for example utility bills, tenancy agreements or bank statements spanning the required time frame.

Financial Evidence:

Please keep in mind that Confirmation of your financial stability, including bank statements showing a steady income source, employment contracts, payslips or self-assessment tax returns if you are self-employed.

Life in the UK Test and English Language Proficiency:

Biometric Residence Permit (BRP):
