The processing time of passport documents is expected to be affected by worker strikes at passport offices in the UK in April 2023.
According to the announcement by the UK government, multiple worker strikes are scheduled to take place at UK passport offices between 3 April and 5 May 2023. Therefore, the government has alerted all applicants about prolonged processing times since it can take 10 weeks or more to process their applications. Plus, delivery times will be affected, as claimed by individual passport offices.
Passport offices in Scotland, England, Wales, and Ireland are expected to be impacted by the worker strikes scheduled for April 2023. However, the government is committed to introducing precautionary measures to avoid delays in the processing of pending applications. Regardless, applicants have been advised to expect delays.
