On 30 January 2024, the Immigration minister, Tom Pursglove, wrote a statement depicting further details regarding the significant changes implemented to legal immigration that were announced on December 4, 2023.

Pursglove unveiled the dates from when the changes will be effective and when the two new statements of changes to the Immigration Rules will be made.
- From April 4, 2024, the increase of the earnings threshold to £38,700 for a Skilled Worker visa will become effective.
- From April 11, 2024, the minimum income requirement would increase to £29,000 for family/spouse visas.
- From March 11, 2024, the right for care workers and senior care workers to bring dependents to the UK will be removed.

Finally, two statements of changes to the Immigration Rules will be made:
- On February 19, 2024, a statement of changes will be laid for the care worker.
- On March 14, 2024, a statement of changes will be laid for the skilled worker and family/spouse visa.
