IRCC RELEASES DETAILS ABOUT A NEW LANGUAGE EVALUATION FOR IMMIGRANTS

Canada Approves A New Language Test

In today’s blog update, we will discuss the new language program that has been approved by the Canadian government.

According to reputable news sources, a new language exam has been approved for immigrants applying under the Canadian Economic Class by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) anticipates having the new test in place by mid-2023. However, the name of the test has not yet been disclosed.

Canadian Language Tests For Immigrants:

A Canadian language test is one of the primary requirements before you can apply for immigration to Canada. Through this test, The IRCC will evaluate your capability for adjustment and integration, which is needed for those who want to experience the Canadian culture and work here.

Presently, there are just four designated organizations: Test d’Evaluation de Français (TEF) and Test de Connaissance du français (TCF) for French, International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and the Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) for English. The IELTS and the CELPIP are the two most accepted English language tests.

These tests assess your language abilities using four primary aspects of criteria: speaking, listening, reading and writing. It’s expected that new tests will continue in this manner to guarantee that likely immigrants can communicate efficiently in Canada when deciding to settle.

Moreover, to meet the growing need for language testing, the Immigration Subdivision will also look into the feasibility of developing a language designation program with precise management and programming functions. The idea is to have enough capacity for a more organized and convincing language testing process. Though the present procedure of open admission for the designation of linguistic tests would remain in place, a targeted program would help the IRCC to expand its policies.

Despite facing premature difficulties during the pandemic, the IRCC reports that there are still sufficient designated testing organizations to meet the demand of immigrants and citizens. But, there has been an upsurge in the number of firms requesting certification, as official Canadian language test providers have urged the IRCC to look for reforms.

According to the memo released by the IRCC, presently, the process for assigning an organization is drawn out, complex, and insufficiently transparent. In the following year, the IRCC will look for possible initiatives and enhancements.

Canada continues to make the country fairly accessible to those who desire to emigrate. Introducing a new language test, in tandem with welcoming immigration policies, will surely bring in skilled and unskilled workers from around the globe.

Do I Need A Language Test?

If you intend to live in Canada permanently, you must get a Canadian language test. Most of Canada’s Economic Class immigration programs require applicants to pass a mandated English or French language test. According to Canadian government research, the reason for evaluating language proficiency is that it plays a vital role in a person’s ability to merge into Canadian society, culture, workforce, and the economy.

Can I Move To Canada Without An IELTS?

Temporarily, foreign nationals can move to Canada, but an IELTS is an essential requirement if you are looking to settle in Canada permanently, which is understandable. So you must verify that you can overcome potential language barriers and blend into the Canadian culture and working environment.
