The introduction of Canada’s new immigration pathway comes as good news for many who wish to join their families in the country. Are you one of them too? Then learn more through this blog.
The latest updates on Canadian immigration news reveals that the government has introduced a new humanitarian immigration pathway. This move benefits Colombians, Haitians, and Venezuelan citizens who are in Central South America or the Caribbean with extended family ties in Canada.
Why Aim For Regular Migration?
Marc Miller, the Immigration Minister, stressed that this new decision, effective this fall, will promote regular migration instead of irregular migration. As part of Canada’s commitment to opening doors for 15,000 American migrants, this new route is promised to welcome 11,000 individuals from the three countries mentioned above.
Support & Eligibility Criteria
You should be related to a Canadian citizen or permanent resident to be considered eligible for Canada’s new immigration pathway. This includes relationships such as:
- Children
- Grandchildren
- Spouses
- Common-Law Partners
- Parents
- Grandparents
- Siblings
Enhanced prearrival services will be offered to successful candidates, which will include:
- Employment skills assessment
- Referral to a settlement provider organization in the intended Canadian community
Canada’s Dedicated Immigration Efforts
The dedication to enhance Canadian immigration is visible in the government’s various initiatives. Canada introduced a program for digital nomads earlier this year, permitting them to work in the country for over six months.
Additionally, a scheme was launched to attract H-1B visa holders. In less than 48 hours, it reached its limit of 10,000 applications.
This proves the government’s efforts to enhance Canadian immigration through adopting policies and meeting the global community’s requirements.
