Considering recent developments in immigration, Canada has been demonstrating commitment toward demographic and long-term economic growth. And now, this initiative further proves its determination.
According to Canada’s new initiative, professionals and international students who were living in Canada on expired visas are permitted to apply for permanent residency. Canada’s Minister of Immigration, Marc Miller, announced that this new initiative would make it feasible for unauthorized immigrants, students, and professionals to make an application for Canadian permanent residency.
According to a report, from 300,000 to 600,000 people are thought to be living in Canada without the necessary documentation, putting them at risk of deportation. However, the launch of this initiative will extend to students or temporary workers who travelled legally into the country and chose to stay even after their visas expired.
