If you are a skilled migrant who wishes to settle permanently in Canada, then you must go through Canada’s Express Entry application process. However, it seems that those waiting for the next Canada Express Entry draw round might have to wait a while. Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has stated that there is a 60-day deadline extension for the submission of a permanent residence application.
This is what the IRCC tweeted from the X (formerly Twitter) handle:
“Some applicant could not upload their express entry applications because of technical problems in the online form. This is having an impact on mature children who live with their parents while pursuing post-secondary education. We have informed each applicant by hand, and we are working at a fast pace to solve the problem. We have added 60 extra days for the persons to file a permanent stay application.”
The last All program draw took place on October 10, 2023, while the latest express entry draw was held on October 26, 2023.
The Express Entry system is used by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to administer the application for economic immigration, which falls under the FSWC (Federal Skilled Worker Class) and FSTC (Federal Skilled Trades Class) categories. Candidates applying under Express Entry have 60 calendar days from the date they receive an invitation to apply or ITA in which to submit a complete electronic application for permanent residence (e-APR).
From October 1, 2023, applicants for Express Entry will no longer need to go through the upfront medical examination.
On October 26, the IRCC invited 3,600 people to apply for permanent residency through Express Entry. Candidates were required to have a rank of 3,600 or higher, while the lowest-rank CRS score was set at 431.
Furthermore, on September 19, the Express Entry program selected 3200 individuals to apply for permanent residency. In order to be invited to apply a candidate must have a rank of 3,200 or higher and a CRS score of the lowest-ranked candidate invited should not be less than 531.
Canada’s Express Entry is the more favored application management system for individuals who plan for permanent migration through the following programs:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program
- Canadian Experience Class
- Federal Skilled Trades Program
- A portion of the Provincial Nominee Program
