Our blog update for today will be discussing Canada’s latest changes to Express Entry aiming to make doctors permanent residents.
The immigration minister of Canada declared a modification to the Express Entry system focused on permitting permanent residency for more doctors.
The change presents a necessary immunity for physicians formerly viewed as self-employed and, therefore, were not eligible for Express Entry.
This action is developed to support doctors in Canada who are working temporarily to transition to permanent residence.
Immigration Minister Sean Fraser announced in Nova Scotia recently that, particularly in his home province, foreign-born physicians have been assisting in keeping families healthy and taking care of their senior population. Their skills are an essential resource to their community, and soon they would become their neighbours and fellow community leaders.
He further stated that the actions announced would be a gesture to these physicians indicating that Canada wants them to stay and make it their permanent home.
