Interestingly, there is no cap on student visas subclass 500. According to statistics, 283,573 student visas were granted during the first half of the 2022-23 program year. Moreover, there were 456,970 student visa holders in Australia on 31 December 2022, confirming a surge of 44.6% compared to the statistics on 31 December 2021.

The news indicates nearly 44,000 Indian students submitted student visa applications during the last six months of 2022, while the number of applications from Chinese students for the same period amounted to 38,700.
